A Need Analysis for Learning English to Young Learners

A growing body of literature has discussed need analysis in a certain domain. The issue raised since English to Young Learners was important support the process language learning classroom. present study employed investigate student's analysis, especially for teaching young learners elementary school level. data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and analyzing documents sample students. Questionnaires distributed 25 students grade 5A 5B, interviews conducted with an teacher 5 at Jakarta. findings revealed that expected master skills so they could be more confident reading writing. Furthermore, also have several preferable topics such as family friends, foods, or meals. They prefer related their daily life background knowledge. Moreover, there are factors may hinder irrelevant interest, lack vocabulary knowledge, anxiety writing made them hard read write. Therefore, development class materials needed relevant students' needs. Keywords: Need Analysis, Learners, Learning Materials
